Eq. Guinean President Warns Biya Against rise in Petrol Prices

If the Equatorial Guinean President, Obiang Ngnema’s Visit to Cameroon last week was worth while, it was when he dished out pieces of advice to his Cameroon counterpart, President Paul Biya, on the petrol prices.
According to our confident at the unity palace, the Equatorial Guinean Head of State warned Biya against any attempt to increase fuel prices in Cameroon. He is said to have questioned Biya why the CEMAC countries should be producing fuel and yet the fuel prices continue to rise every other year. He opined that if there’s any hike in petrol price, it will aggravate inflation in Cameroon and the CEMAC zone as a whole affecting all the sectors of the economy and consequently, it will provoke hardship and the population would no doubt revolt against their government. He therefore cautioned that if Biya want the population to love him, he should not make a mistake to cause a price hike of petrol.
In a bid to appease Cameroonians after the persistent attacks on Cameroonians in Equatorial Guinea by the Obiang Nguema’s citizens, President Obiang Nguema was reported to have discussed with Biya on how to hasten the introduction of the common international Passport for the CEMAC countries to facilitate free movements of the citizens from one CEMAC country to another.
And of course, Obiang Nguema knew quite well that Cameroon is the source of equatorial Guinean food, labour and building materials and equally provides good schools for the Equatorial Guinean children.
Beside, equatorial Guinean President had threatened to check out of the CEMAC zone if the CEMAC countries did not jettison the use of Francs. He stressed that France has long stopped using the Franc currency and has now joined the rest of the European countries using the Euro. Moreso, he said the CEMAC countries lose much money to France by using the francs.
Equatorial Guinea started exploring petroleum products just some 10years ago and is now one of the most developed countries in the CEMAC zone and Africa as a whole, when Cameroon started exploring petroleum products scores of years ago yet it’s lagging behind Equatorial Guinea in terms of development.
As of now, equatorial Guinea epitomizes Cameroon in good roads, potable water and stadia among others.
Cameroon Post International gathered that it was on the fast development of Equatorial Guinea that President Paul Biya invited Obiang Nguema to Cameroon last week to drill him on how to assist Cameroon achieve her greater realization goal
